The company has reduced more than 114,000 tons of CO2 since 2015 and is making progress in recyclable packaging.
Romar Global Care has eliminated more than 100 tons of plastic annually and has reduced more than 114,000 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) equivalent emissions since 2015, as demonstrated by its Director of Quality and Environment, Amparo Expósito (on the right, in the image), and its Category Manager, Felipe del Amo (left), at the 86th Innovation Breakfast organized by the Packaging Innovation Cluster.
During the meeting, which took place at the Caixa Popular headquarters in the Valencia Technology Park (Paterna), both executives shared the company's sustainability strategy, focused on reducing environmental impact without losing sight of accessibility and competitiveness.
Romar Global Care, with more than five decades of experience in the manufacturing of personal care, cosmetics and household cleaning products, has implemented new solutions such as Lower grammage bottles made with up to 50% recycled plastic (rPET), and has replaced multi-materials with mono-materials to facilitate recycling.
It has also posed a number of other challenges to the sector, including the technical difficulty of recycling aerosols, the need to change industrial molds to adapt to new materials, or the gap between regulatory requirements and market behavior.
Furthermore, its managers have highlighted that it is still more expensive to be sustainable, but that the company's commitment is clear to democratize access to responsible products, adding that their mission is to leave a more positive mark on the planet.
